The performance of students at O level is a dismal 1.3% in Division I, and of that only 3 of the 17 are girls, out of 1308 who sat for the exams! This performance is near the bottom for the whole country. The district has enough schools, 37 schools to serve a population of 185,526 or each school serves about 5,000 better than the country average of one school to about 5,500 people.

When you consider that senior four student6s are a mere 1,308 of the district population of 185,526, or a mere 0.7% of the population, when the national average is 1%!

Afroed teamed up with BEST, (Busoga Educational Support Team); the Radio Station called BABA FM, based in Jinja and owned by Hon. Moses Balyeku; and ART ENGRAVED owned by Ben Ziraba Nyende, to boost the district's performance. BEST is a group of Basoga united by an internet group, BUSOGA YAIFE, who have volunteered to help fellow Basoga. BABA FM gave us an hour a week on Sundays to broadcast our efforts. Art Engraved provided all the print we needed, and made the brochures. Afroed provided the statistics, and provided the expertise

Afroed facilitated three meetings that were held and invited all in the education field, Head Teachers, Schools Board governors and the Education officer, Ms. Nantale and her team. Financial help was received from Mr. and Mrs. Benon Mukasa, California; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kyeyune, Georgia, Mr. Bakama in Texas and Mr. and Mrs, Ben Ziraba Nyende, California. At the last meeting, Afroed promised a Million shillings to be awarded in 2013, reproduced below.
